PEO EIS Hosts Change of Charter for Product Manager DoD Biometrics
Mr. Douglas Wiltsie, Program Executive Officer, Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS), hosted a ceremony July 16 officially transferring the PM DOD Biometrics charter from COL Sandy Vann-Olejasz to the incoming product manager, COL Donald Hurst.
DOD Biometrics designs, engineers, acquires, deploys, and sustains Enterprise biometric solutions in multiple operating environments enabling identity dominance on the battlefield and across The Department of Defense. DOD Biometric systems capture, transmit, store, manage, share, retrieve, and display biometric data for timely identification or identity verification. These systems are mission enablers for force protection, intelligence, physical and logical access control, identity management/credentialing, detention and interception operations.
COL Vann has led DOD Biometrics since July 2011. During her tenure, COL Vann implemented an enduring and affordable biometrics capability that will revolutionize the ways the DOD, Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice will complete national security missions.
COL Hurst most recently held the position of Director, Fires and Force Protection, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology [ASA(ALT)], Pentagon. COL Hurst began is Army service in 1992 as a Distinguished Military Graduate through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of California – Davis, and was commissioned Military Intelligence branch detailed to the Armor Corps.
